Triune is a modern adaptation of a Lunar New Year celebration song in the Weitou language, a Cantonese dialect. Triune is part of Rainbow Chan's research on folk music and women oral traditions in Hong Kong (like her 2019 single, Lull.) Through three new variations, Rainbow constructs a multi-dimensional sound world around a singular melody. Deepest respect and love to Granny Yuen Yu-Po, from whom Rainbow learnt this melody.

English translation:
When the hens cluck, collect the eggs.
When the drums sound, the kirin leaps.
On New Year’s Eve, put up The Door Gods.
On New Year’s Day, wake up early.
Comb your hair, then light the beacon.
When the beacon is bright, ignite the candles.
When the candles are lit, dress the table.
When the table is dressed, the firecrackers will crackle.
All the sisters will gather here
To celebrate the New Year.
